Can You Spare to Make a Change?
On February 10-11, the National Student Campaign Against Hunger & Homelessness and Boston University teamed up to host the 2007 East Coast Student Conference on Hunger and Homelessness.
The February Conference focused on some of the most pressing issues related to domestic and international poverty including housing and homelessness; hunger; international economics and globalization; and humanitarian crises. In addition, the conference examined the inter-connectedness (and need) of student community service and advocacy.
Hundreds of college students from across the East Coast joined us for this amazing event. Throughout the weekend, we learned the most current information on domestic and international hunger and poverty from some of the top activists, organizers, and advocates in the country as well as new skills and strategies to run effective campaigns. We were also able to network with students who are already organizing around these issues and others who have never volunteered but want to make a difference.
